Temporary placement company agrees to pay 973 employees more than $1.8 million in back wages to resolve U.S. Labor Department lawsuit
BOSTON — 888 Consulting Group Inc., a Dedham, Mass., temporary employee placement company doing business as TAC Worldwide, has agreed to pay 973 employees across the country a total of $1,866,943 in overtime back wages to resolve a lawsuit filed by the U.S. Department of Labor alleging violations of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Wal-Mart to Pay $54M to Settle Wage and Hour Suit
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., has agreed to pay up to 54.25 million to settle a lawsuit accusing the company of violating Minnesota rules regarding hours of work and meal and rest breaks. The class-action lawsuit included 100,000 current and former hourly associates who worked at Wal-Mart Stores and Sam's Clubs locations in Minnesota from September 11, 1998 through November 14, 2008.
